Meet our Founders

Penelope A. Johnson

Co-Founder, Ed.D, BCBA, ADOS-2 Examiner

Dr. Johnson is the clinical director and co-founder of the ABA Learning Center based in Miami, Florida.


Dr. Penelope Johnson is certified in behavior analysis with over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum and with developmental disabilities. She leads RBT training courses and offers seminars to professionals and parents on a variety of topics related to ASD and ABA.


She also created the first ABA master’s program in Spanish in Latin America and continues to work with other BCBAs and universities around the world in developing additional courses to train a new generation of therapists in the area of behavior modification in parts of the world, where there are few trained and accredited professionals.


Dr. Penelope holds a Doctorate in Education from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education with a certificate in Inclusion from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Princeton University.

Maria Zambrano

Co-Founder, BCBA

María Zambrano is co-founder of the ABA Learning Center based in Miami, Florida.


María Zambrano has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a focus in special education. María is certified in behavior analysis and has more than 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum.

.

Maria’s main focus in her extensive career is a holistic approach to individual development. As such, she specializes in developing and implementing social skills programs that aim to improve an individual’s ability to navigate social interactions, fostering independence and a better quality of life. In doing so, the aim is to ensure that each program is tailored to the individual’s unique requirements to help achieve that individual’s overall independence as much as possible.


María is happily married and the mother of twins. Lastly, he loves spending time with his family, traveling, and playing tennis.

ABA Learning Center is proud of their team of enthusiastic, skilled professionals who are passionate about their work.

 

 

Most of our team members are pursuing careers as ABA consultants, special education teachers, speech/occupational therapy or a related field.

 

 

They all go through extensive training in principles and application of behavior analysis and take part in regular ongoing professional development workshops to ensure we meet our goal of providing the highest quality treatment available.

Meet our Clinical Staff

Elizabeth Rodriguez

BCBA

Elizabeth is a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst based out of Miami. Elizabeth received a B.A. in Special Education from Texas State University. In 2018, she received her M.Ed in Applied Behavior Analysis from Texas State University.  During her studies Elizabeth worked as a behavior therapist in both a school setting and clinic setting.


Although the majority of her experience consists of working with individuals on the Autism spectrum, she has also worked with a variety of individuals ranging from age and disability.


In her free time Elizabeth enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and trying new restaurants!

Elizabeth Fiol

BCBA

Elizabeth Fiol is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst based out of Miami, Florida. Elizabeth earned her Masters of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology. Prior to obtaining her masters, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exceptional Student Education from Florida International University.

 

Elizabeth worked as an RBT for 3 years before becoming a BCBA. Elizabeth has had the privilege of working in multiple settings including clinics, schools, home, and out in the community.

 

She has a passion for helping these children improve their quality of lives and reach their full potentials.

Roxana Yzquierdo

BCBA

Roxana is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst based out of Miami, Florida. Roxana received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University in 2016 and her Master’s degree in Developmental Disabilities with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University in 2019.

 

Roxana has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults providing ABA services within the home, clinic, school, and community setting. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
